A Day-by-Day accounting of one's life always helps to reflect the thoughts and
feelings of that individual on any particular day. Mood swings, events, and other
ramblings of William Zachary Fowlkes will be recorded here. Starting out on a
daily basis and then winding up a weekly series in the early beginning, the journal
has had may stagnant weeks due to lack of enough hours in the day to contribute to it.
At some point, an attempt to go back and "play catch up for lost time" will be forthcoming,
but at this time, just getting the journal on a natural flow is the current challenge.
Come back soon as we begin to catch up Zac's Journal.

Week Three...
Monday, February 7, 2000: Zac got a new dual-speed swing
from his Grandma and Grandpa Fowlkes today, and got to share some of his
fun in this new device with viewers of the ZacCam this afternoon. He loved
the swinging motion, and stayed in it a bulk of the day.
Sunday, February 6, 2000: Zac recieved visits today from Ken
and Judy Newcomb and Crystal Thompson, and relaxed from his first all-day
outing.
Saturday, February 5, 2000: Zac went on an outing and visited his
"Nana" Pope today, and stayed most of the afternoon and the evening visiting
and soaking in the environment. His "Nana" got him an Eddie Bauer edition
Four-in-One stroller/car seat combination utility vehicle, which is like the
Lexus of baby strollers. It took nearly an hour to assemble.
Week Two...
Friday, February 4, 2000: Zac went to his very first pediatric exam
today after coming home form the hospital. He was given a clean bill of health and
had grown one half of an inch and gained seven ounces. He then was treated by
making some visits and having a grand time out and about the town.
Thursday, February 3, 2000: Crystal Thompson visits again today, and Zac
goes on his first outing: Hillari's school (St. Ann's Catholic School) for Open
House. He met all of the kids in Hillari's class and their parents, and had
folks "ooing" and "gooing" all over the place. He had a ball on his first trip
out of the house.
Wednesday, February 2, 2000: Zac moves right on up to six ounces of
formula every three hours, and has his second night since coming home of no
visitors.
Tuesday, February 1, 2000: Zac starts consuming four to six ounces of
formula every three hours, and begins locking his knees when held up. He graps
and catches the items on his mobile as the go over his head, showing his
alertness his growing. He also starts to not like sleeping on his side in his
crib, but laying on his back on the bed or couch, snuggling with his Mommy or
Daddy. Crystal Thompson visits again, and witnesses Zac's first "scoots" by
himself across his changing table and crib mattress.
Monday, January 31, 2000: Crystal Thomspon and Rhonda and Michael Pope
came and visited today, and Zac's stellar feeding grows to five to six ounces
every three hours. Zac is ten days old today.
Sunday, January 30, 2000: Charlene and Ashlea Wooten visited, and Kasey
Wooten saw Zac for the first time Sunday evening. Zac's feedings progress
along fine.
Saturday, January 29, 2000: Zac's feedings progressed to four ounces of
Similac every three hours, and still hasn't thrown up or gotten sick once. Grandpa
and Grandma Fowlkes came to visit and took over one hundred photographs (83 digital
ones), which should be posted in the Media Gallery by the middle of next week. Susan
and Baliea Coleman visited during the late afternoon time, along with Lauren and
Leslie Stephens and Rhonda and Michael Pope. Cousin Stephanie Sullivan called
to check up on him from her home state of Virginia.
Week One...
Friday, January 28, 2000: Zac was supposed to have a scheduled doctors
visit today, but had to reschedule due to the five inches of snow we had
received overnight. Cousin Crystal Thompson stayed the night helping with
Zac, as he turns one week old today.
Thursday, January 27, 2000: There is a scheduled doctors appointment
set for Friday, but the thought and forecast of heavy snow puts a damper on
everything, especially the visit of Zac's Grandparents, Will and Angie
Fowlkes. Classmates of Hillari's Sandra Mackey and Kelley Graves, and
their families, come to visit Zac.
Wednesday, January 26, 2000: The feedings continue going great and Zac
gets his first night with no visitors! The ZacCam gets put up in beta form,
but becomes a standard part of the web site by the evening time.
Tuesday, January 25, 2000: zac's feedings increasing to three to four
ounces of Similac every three hours. he received more visitors, including
Cheryl Thomas and her mother, Carol; Laura and Lauren Gilbert; and Rhonda Pope.
The front end interface to Zac's web site finally gets hung onto the WillTech
Web Servers. It is also discovered that Zac is a night owl and prefers to stay
awake at night rather than in the daytime.
Monday, January 24, 2000: Zac continued with two to two and one half
ounce feedings every three hours, and again had visitors. Visitors included
Ken and Judy Newcomb; Rhonda and Michael Pope; and Sherrie, Kayla and Josh
Durkee.
Sunday, January 23, 2000: Zac took three consecutive feedings on Isomil
with iron, so the doctors all said we could pack him up and head on back home. We
arrived back in Memphis around 17:00 CDT, and had Zac's first vistors waiting for us
in the driveway. Zac's first vistors were: Charlene and Ashlea Wooten; and Becky and
Shelby Britt; Andrew Langley; Susan and Baleia Coleman; Rhonda Pope; Crystal Thompson;
Mrs. Maxey; and Paul, Lisa and Stephanie Blackman.
Saturday, January 22, 2000: After several feedings with Similac, Zac
acquired a little tummy trouble, so the doctors advised switching to Isomil with
iron as a formula. We did a few test runs with the new style of formula to see if
he accepts the taste. If he doesn't have any further complications, then we can all
go home Sunday morning, January 23rd. He was consuming two ounces of formula every
three hours.
Friday, January 21, 2000: William Zachary Fowlkes was born today at
15:44 CDT in McComb, Mississippi. He was seven and one-half pounds and twenty
and one half inches long. He started out feeding on Similac with iron formula,
and was deemed perfectly healthy with all his little fingers and little toes.
